Monet married his first wife Camille on June 28, 1870!

The couple had a small civil-ceremony in Paris with painter Gustave Courbet was a witness. Only Camille's parents we're in attendance, Monet's family didn't approve of their relationship.  The couple had a baby at the time, their first son Jean - and they honeymooned at Trouville-sur-Mer.
